Naomi's Room

We have been working on preparing Naomi's room for several months now and are excited to say that it's finished just in time. We're happy to share the transformation from start to finish with you. Enjoy the pics.

 Uncle J and Auntie Angela graciously surprised us by painting Naomi's wall mural while we were away on vacation.  They did an outstanding job and it matches perfectly with the room's theme of Noah's Ark.  The verse inside the rainbow will be over Naomi each time she is in her crib.  It says, "Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statues and keep His commandments."

Our dear friend Susan gifted us this beautiful sleigh crib that will convert into a "Big Girl" bed as Naomi grows.  It's a dark walnut color.

Greg spent many hours sanding and restaining Alyssa's nightstand and dresser set from her childhood to match the crib's finish and it turned out beautifully.

This TV cabinet was gifted to us by Uncle Brad and Aunt Danielle when we got married 6 years ago.  It looked a little different then.  Greg painted it and removed the doors.  Jason donated beadboard for the back.... and wah-lah... it has become Naomi's toy cabinet.

Finished crib with custom made Noah's Ark bedding

That's right!  Grammie Pammie spent innumerable hours sewing away on the bedding.  She made the bumper pads, crib skirt, crib sheets and pretty much everything Alyssa attempted to sew as well.  She was so gracious to make this bedding just the way we envisioned it. Side funny story... the bedding is the main reason we found out the baby's gender.  Alyssa always knew she wanted to do the baby's nursery in Noah's Ark.  But when we officially found out that baby was on the way, the bedding debate began.  Greg was very adamant that anything with a mere hint of butterflies, hearts, floral shapes or fabric with even a hue of the red family was GIRL ONLY.  "No son of mine will sleep with a ladybug on his sheets."  This was very dramatic because the fabric choices were very gender neutral but we just could not agree.  Therefore, we found out what we were having so we could finally put the debate to rest!

Greg bought Naomi the Alphapillar for Christmas.  It's a stuffed caterpillar with the letters of the alphabet all the way down his back and 52 legs.  It is over 4 feet long and we hope to use it as a size comparison to Naomi as she grows.

 

Ama's friend Sarah from North Carolina sent us boxes of baby clothes for Naomi.  It was a tremendous blessing that someone we've never met in person would be so generous to us and we greatly appreciate it!  Naomi has also been gifted adorable outfits by so many people.  She has lots to wear!

 

 The start of a growing bow collection.  Thankfully Auntie Angela has helped greatly in this department.  Alyssa has just started making bows for Naomi and we are days away from her arrival.

Looks like we just need our little baby girl and this nursery will be complete!
