2 Months Old

Naomi turned two months old on July 20, 2011. Life has certainly been busy in our house and the summer is flying right by. It's hard to believe that our baby is not so newborn anymore. Each day it seems like she is growing and learning something new and it certainly brings us so much joy to watch.

What Naomi has been doing this month:

You still wore some newborn clothes but were able to fit some 0-3 month clothes. You started wearing size 1 diapers.

At your two-month appointment, you weighed 11 lbs. 6 oz. and measured 24 inches!

You started the month nursing every two hours during the day and going four to five hour stretches at night. By the end of the month, you had stretched out to three hours during the day and five to six hours at night. Mommy was consistently trying to feed you every two hours and could not figure out why you would refuse to eat. Thank goodness Auntie Angela helped me out! She suggested that I give you more time between feedings and you were SO much happier with me. :) Your auntie has been such a help to me through this whole process. Thanks sis~ love you lots!

You found your precious voice. You started cooing and sing-songing with your daddy and me. We can't get enough of you. What a precious moment it was when you smiled your sweet toothless grin and began talking to us. It was not unusual for us to sit on the couch with you and just listen to your voice.

You still seem to enjoy tummy time and have rolled over several times.  You can hold your head up now and look around for a while.  You are getting so strong.

You hate your car seat.

Your two-month immunizations were pretty rough to go through. You had to get a shot in each leg and we could tell they hurt! Your little legs were stiff the whole day and we had to rub them to help them not get little knots. You screamed and it was so heartbreaking. Thank goodness you felt better by the next day. Dr. Rao still loves you a whole lot. She says you are a "luscious girl."

You are certainly filling out your skin with baby rolls, but you are still tall with long legs. Your cheeks are the cutest! They have plumped up like chipmunk cheeks and Mommy says it looks like you are storing nuts for winter in them.

You absolutely love to look around and are still very visual. You whip your head back and forth to take it all in because you don't want to miss a thing. You like to face out and be upright.

You still love bath time every night and yawn the whole way through. You even seem to like getting your hair washed now. You do so well with your bedtime routine and have no trouble going right to sleep when you go down for the night. You outgrew your bassinet big time. Your little legs were hanging over the side so you moved into the pack-n-play for nights.

When you are very tired, you have started rubbing your eyes and it is pretty darn adorable.

You have started losing some of your baby hair but don't have any true bald spots (yet!) Your hair has remained brown and your eyes are still true blues with some gray to them. At the end of your first month, a new birth mark appeared right over your right ear almost overnight. Daddy calls it your beauty spot.

Naomi, Daddy is absolutely head-over-heels crazy about you and I love you to pieces. You have brought so much blessing over us and we cannot imagine life without you, precious girl.  Happy Two Months!
